Ruling Classes

A battle has always raged in the otherwise quiet town of Storton between the local public school Stortfield Academy and the state school Stortvale High, from academic results to the Holy Grail of victory in the annual Rugby match, invariably won by Stortfield.

But when both schools have their hearts and funds set on a new theatre, the dispute turns into a full-blown war between students, staff and headmasters. Who is in the gang of “Vigilantes” terrorising the streets at night? What is Stortfield School Governor Simon Petherton-Pugh up to- and what does it have to do with the drama teacher Viola McIntyre? Why are the Head Girls Melinda Farnsworth-Rogers and Belinda Bellingham-Steele sneaking around in the night? What does the mysterious Jack Wildblood want? Why does the bohemian artist Nigel Slot have a shed full of explosives? And can local reporter Jed Crane solve the mystery, and get the girl?

In this gripping and hilarious tale of misadventure, Martin Dimery places a bomb under two schools and the education system. Ruling Classes is a darkly comic laugh out loud exploration of two schools going to war.

Martin Dimery is a performer, director and writer. His work includes the critically acclaimed biography “Being John Lennon”, and the widely performed solo revue “Shakespeare Rattle and Roll.”

Born An Angel

What would you do if you had a glimpse of the life of your dreams, only to have it all taken away from you? How could you go on in the aftermath of the most devastating loss imaginable? Deborah suffered extraordinary pain and devastation over the breakdown of her relationship and the loss of her first-born daughter. Seeking answers from the medical staff, facing isolation and despair, and navigating the feelings and discomfort of those around her, Deborah must find a way to live again, and to honour her baby’s precious memory.

In this breathtakingly honest memoir, Deborah finally shares her story with the world, bravely displaying not only her scars, but the strength and courage she found to carry on – and the blinding, beaming light of her love for the child born an angel.

Yesterday’s Countryside

Born and bred in the Severn Valley near Bristol, Paul Rutter was surrounded by a natural world that drew him in and beguiled him. It was an experience that would inform his whole life as he worked on deer parks, for the National Trust, and now to protect the environment around his native Gloucestershire and Herefordshire.

Passionate and deeply felt, Yesterday’s Countryside, Tomorrow’s Choices is not simply a lament for a world we are in the process of losing through the abuses of big business and the small acts of which we are all guilty. Instead, Rutter tackles the problems head on, and offers intelligent and comprehensive solutions to help all of us understand the environment, our place in it, and how we can make a difference.

Drawing on his own life, from hands-on rural engagement, to his experiences in environmental advocacy, Rutter pulls us back to the world which we all share, and which it is not only our duty to protect, but our privilege to inhabit. Heartfelt and humorous, Yesterday’s Countryside, Tomorrow’s Choices is a book that shows the reader not a lost world, but one that is all around us, and which we can help preserve.

Destined to Heal

As a young child Andrew McKellar knew he was born to fulfill a unique purpose.

He always knew he was destined to fulfill a higher purpose. His parents dismissed the idea, calling him “stupid.” During his formative years he heard disembodied voices, had premonitions, saw spirit forms and had many out of body experiences.

After years of suffering, at the tender age of 22 he was told by a medium that he would become a spiritual healer and so it was. For the last thirty-two years Andrew has seen the lame walk, the crippled stand, people cancel operations, arthritis cured, even chiropractors have said that they wish they could do what

Andrew does for back problems. Even countless numbers of cancer patients have been cured, alongside many other so called “incurable” conditions, he claims to be a mere channel of divine energy he say’s “I witness these cures take place through me, not from me.” He continues to heal the sick and suffering to this day.

Dreams, Visions and their Interpretations

We are in the Last Days. As such, God wants us to be in constant awareness of the affairs of the spirit realm, through our dreams and visions, so that we can effectively navigate this dark and obscure world and achieve a brighter tomorrow. Each and every day, God speaks to us through our dreams and visions to warn us, to guide us, to explain the past, and to decode the future. How many lives and destinies could have been saved, or how many marriages and relationships rescued, or businesses and careers secured, or ministries and callings preserved, if only our dreams and visions were understood and taken seriously?

Pastor Uzor builds on his earlier and popular title, Dreams and Visions, by including in this latest edition a comprehensive and detailed list of commonly seen symbols in dreams and visions, as well as their interpretations.

In summary, in this book, you will:
DISCOVER the Biblical basis for dreams, visions, and other types of revelations from God.
GAIN some tips on how to navigate and interpret your dreams and visions.
UNDERSTAND how to pray good dreams and visions into manifestation.
UNDERSTAND how to reject and cancel negative dreams and nightmares.
LEARN how to pray proactively with the included deliverance prayer points and take charge of your own destiny!

Poetry Semi-Skimmed

This is the fourth collection of Eddie’s poetry; he says that the verses hover somewhere between doggerel and light verse. He also says:

Serious poetry is mainly melancholy,
As serious poets are, mainly, off their trolley,
So don’t expect anything grand,
It’s simple fare, borderline bland.
But may these short and simple rhymes,
In these tense and troubled times,
Give you cause to pause awhile,
And as you read them, bring a smile.

Dinner in the Sky

Doreen Kerry’s first book, Pathway to the Moon, was a ‘voyage of discovery’ into the new life she found herself living after the tragic early death of her husband. Her second, When Angels Fall, featured an imaginary court hearing in which she staged an imaginary trial for those whose negligence she felt had contributed to his death. In this volume, she indulges in another entertaining flight of fancy, with imaginary visits to restaurants frequented by stars from the golden era of Hollywood.

“My husband had died, but my humour had remained, and it became my literary medicine throughout.”

The Real Motives for Scottish and Catalan Independence

There is every reason to lump together the Scottish and Catalan attempts at independence, as will immediately be evident upon the reader’s acquaintance with this book. No doubt there are figures in Catalonia equivalent to Alex Salmond and Nicola Sturgeon, since pathological psychology is presumably not confined to the Scottish mentality.

The body of the book is occupied by an analysis of the desire for Scottish independence, seen partly as a reflection of the American variety, but, to both of these the Catalonian call for a similar event can be likened, and therefore the author does not devote much time to the latter, incipient development. However, the reader is enjoined to substitute ‘Catalonian’ references for ‘Scottish’ references throughout.

A large part of this dissertation is concerned with the wider aspect of politics and their relation to the ‘freedom’ purportedly found in democracy, being, of course, relevant though not, perhaps, obviously so. The Brexit crisis produced the ideal excuse for a second vote on Scottish independence – fortunately frustrated – the real reasons for which

Confidence in Diplomacy by Mereo Books

Abdul Rimdap was the only one of 20 brothers and sisters to go to school, and it would never have happened if he had not eavesdropped on a class at his village school and put his hand up outside the window to answer a question which had defeated the pupils. He went on to college and excelled sufficiently to be accepted by the Nigerian Foreign Service. There followed a distinguished international career during which he played leading ambassadorial roles for Nigeria in Ethiopia, Zambia, Pakistan, Belgium, Switzerland, Austria and Germany, helping to shape Nigerian foreign policy, being involved in the dismantling of apartheid and playing an important role in human rights issues at a critical time in his country’s history. He retired from his final post, as Ambassador to Germany, in 2010.
